Advanced Brewing Class

6:00 pm to 9:00 pm each night
Class fee: $60 per student, payment required to register

Class minimum: 10 students
Class maximum: 24 students

Instructors: Tom Sedlacek and JP Blount

This class is intended for both all-grain brewers and extract brewers who are interested in making better beer!

Topics covered will include:
- All of the major components of the beer making process
- Including presentations on how malt is made
- Yeast selection and use
- Fermentation
- Sanitation
- Hop usage and hop varieties
- Recipe formulation and cloning (using brewing software)
- Off flavor diagnosis and critical evaluation
- CD Disk of all presentations, and handouts, lots of good stuff!
Class will be discussion only, no brewing will be done during class. Samples will be provided.

Beginning classes:
This is an entry-level class designed to show the first time brewer the beer making process. A 5-gallon batch of beer will be made in the class, and we will go over the use of specialty grains, hops, yeast, malt syrup, sanitation and fermentation during the class.
Class fee is $20.00 per student.
Payment is required to register for class.
Class minimum: 4 students, Class Maximum 12 students

You can register in the store during regular business hours, you may also register via telephone.
Class size is 4 minimum, with a maximum of 12 due to space limitations. We highly recommend pre-registration for all classes, to ensure your space in the class, and to ensure minimum class size. If minimum class size is not registered (and class fee paid) 3 days prior to class, we will notify you of cancellation. Drop in students are welcome provided we have space available. Class fees are refundable if we cancel class. If you miss class, we can apply the fee to a future class, but the fee is not refundable. Please understand that the instructor’s time is valuable.
 
 
All-Grain Brewing classes:
This is a class designed for extract brewers who want to make the jump to all-grain brewing. The class is 5 hours, during which we will make a 5 gallon batch of beer and show you the equipment and techniques used in all grain brewing. Class fee is $25.00 per student, payment is required to register for class. Class minimum: 4 students, Class Maximum 12 students
