Would you like to help judge the wines or beers for the Clark County Fair?
Judging for the Wine will be held Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010 at Bader Beer & Wine Supply,
starting at 6:00 pm. We normally are done around 9 pm. You actually consume very little alcohol, but learn a lot.
Judging for the Beer will be held Wednesday, August 4th, 2010 at Bader Beer & Wine Supply, beginning

We normally are done around 9 pm. You actually consume very little alcohol, but learn a lot.
We team judges in groups of 3 with an experienced judge on each team,
and the rookies spread out. Each team typically judges about 10 different
beers or wines. We provide you with scoring sheets that help you to
break down the judging of the beer or wine by things like aroma,
taste, clarity, finish, overall impression, and a few others.
For the beer judging, we use the current Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP) guidelines and ask the brewer to determine the beer style
that we judge the beer against. This makes it easier for the judge to score the beer against
the descriptions of the beer style chosen.

For the wine judging, we provide a judging sheet that breaks down the scoring, and
makes it easier for the judge to give feedback to the winemaker.
We typically have friends judge in different groups, to minimize judging bias.
The most important thing is that the judge write down what they taste and smell, and
give positive & productive feedback to the brewer or vintner, to help them improve his or her beer or wine in the future.
It is tons of fun, and we would love to have you help!

Please
let me know the names of the judges, and if you want to judge beer or wine (or both!)
