Dextrose is a simple sugar that is very easy to ferment into alcohol and produces excellent flavored alcohol. Typically you will get cleaner alcohol and the yeast will be able to ferment to a higher alcohol content than the more common cane sugar (sucrose) which makes the yeast work harder to ferment into alcohol.
